Are you Bullish on the U.S. economy?
Does the thought of the 12,000-point DOW excite you?
Well if "things" are so good in the U.S. economy, then tell me, why is gold hovering around $600 an ounce again? And why is the U.S. dollar crossover rate to the Euro hovering around 1.27 again?
And inflation. Are you experiencing any? I sure am. I just filled my gas tank again and Whoa! Gas is down fifty cents a gallon. Hmmmmmmm... ever heard of the "crack rate?" Naw, that's not what Snoop gets his crack for, but it's the difference between what the refiners sell the gas to the distributors for and the price you pay at the pump.
So if you are wondering what it was that was discussed in the Oval Office when DWI Bush called the heads of the oil companies to the White House me thinks that the 'crack rate' was a topic on the agenda.
Here's the way this game is going to be played, IF the Republicans lose the mid-terms en masse' (as they should, but thanks to DIEBOLD it's a long shot) you can expect that BushCo will put the scorched Earth plan into effect, that is, to leave such a mess behind him when he leaves the White House that no matter WHO follows him into office, the clean-up will be so costly, drastic and expensive that they'll be guaranteed to be a one-term office holder.
Once the Nov. 7th elections are certified and we know who the players will be, then Corporate America is going to turn up the heat on US. If you think gas is expensive today, well Mister, you ain't seen nuthn' yet.
I'm just hoping that Americans don't roll over and play dead when the heat gets turned on. Instead of just going with the flow, maybe it's time Americans took a lesson in Democracy from those recent entries to the Democratic scene, the Hungarians. They're rioting in the streets in Budapest! They're demanding that the President resign! Why? He misrepresented the economic state of the nation during the election period and got caught.
After living all those years under a Soviet Bloc ruling party those people cherish their Democratic values and they're not going to let their nation be threatened by lying politicians.
Did Bush and his henchmen misrepresent the threat of Iraq to American interests in order to go to war? You bet they did, and we can prove it numerous times in a court of law.
Are you better off today than you were while Mr. Clinton was in office? I'm not and I'm suffering economically just like the rest of you working stiffs.
Sure the house you bought five years ago costs 60 percent more today to buy than you paid, but the dollar is worth 60 percent less than it was when Bush entered office. Gold was $270 when Bush took over, today it's right around the $600 mark.
Isn't it time for Americans to demand that a statesman, instead of a politician, become the occupant of the White House?
And if you want to have some fun during this weekend's drinking bouts, ask your friends: "What successes has the Bush administration been able to claim?"
Anyway, I know how I intend to vote. If you're the incumbent, you're not getting my vote, and if you're aligned with the incumbent you're not getting my vote. I'd rather see Hugo Chavez running the USA than any of the current offerings, and that includes Hillary, Obama, Gore, and all of the rest of the professional politicians. I want to see something done, no more lip service!
What would I do if President? good question, looky here:
Nationalize necessary utilities, and take the profit out of it.
Universal health care INSURANCE for everyone. As long as you need to keep paying dividends from healthcare insurers and providers to "investors" it'll never come back to research to correct the medical maladies that caused you the illness in the first place.
CUT AND RUN! Then write the Iraqi people an enormous check for all the damages we've done, it's called WAR REPARATIONS! It's what the losers have to pay when the war is over.
Flat Tax! Earn a dollar, gimme a nickel. No more write-offs for house mortgages, home taxes, etc. Earn a buck gimme a nickel, and keep the rest.
Eliminate tax-free status for "churches." No deductions for anything from your taxes. Like I said above, earn a buck, gimme a nickel.
Gun Legislation! 22,000+ laws on the books and not one of them stops a single crime. Federal concealed carry pistol permit.
Stop the war on drugs! Instead of spending billions of dollars trying to stop people from doing to themselves what they will do anyway, make it legal, control it for quality and put a consumption tax on it to fund the programs to get people off of drugs that have been suckered into them.
The court systems are a mess. Change the criminal code such that it applies across the nation, not just across county lines. And do away with these ridiculous latitudes Judges have in sentencing. No more "concurrent sentences," they're ALL "consecutive." And no more early release programs either -- do the crime do the time. Build prisons and stack the criminals in them until they look like a pile of cordwood. Five percent of the population is responsible for 85 percent of all crime. Lock 'em up and keep 'em there.
Unemployment INSURANCE! It's an insurance program, and if you are unemployed for whatever reason then you should remain on unemployment payments until such time as you are gainfully employed. Letting people fall off the unemployment rolls after 36 weeks and into poverty, crime and homelessness is just the biggest sin Americans can commit against their fellow Americans ever... and that ties back to my argument that we need Universal Medical insurance coverage for everyone. Why should your family's health insurance be tied to your job?
No more death penalty. I don't care if you murdered 12 student nurses or killed a schoolyard full of retarded kids, the State doesn't need to do your killing for you.
I'd stop the major programs that the government has in place that private industry, under the auspices of publically traded companies, runs to oversee Medicare, Medicaid, the space program, and on and on. Just think of any of those free lunch corporate America giveaways that give you, the American citizen, nothing more than another empty hole in your wallet.
And I'd re-introduce legislation to make the Bill of Rights whole again and eradicate what the neo-cons have done to strip US of our rights.
And the news media... well they'd be in for some real Shock and Awe. If you don't tell factual stories, or if you twist the truth or leave out salient parts of a story, then you'll be stripped of your ability to function as a journalist. The First Amendment was put in place to simply articulate that a person has the right to say whatever they want to say. A journalist working for a major (or minor) media firm is not a person, they're part of a corporate entity. If they misrepresent political views as truths then they should be held accountable both as a corporate entity and as an individual for their breaking of the trust. If your doctor, lawyer or accountant makes a mistake that costs you, then there are channels that can be used to prosecute and punish them for such travesties. Journalists and news media outlets require the same type of oversight applied to them.
And some little things, like those pesky annoyance lawsuits where someone with a lot of money "pleads you to death" in court knowing they can win whatever they want, thereby depriving you of your lawful ownership of whatever it is they want, by simply hiring a legal firm to file pleadings. Frivolous lawsuits should be dealt with in a severe manner and the place to begin correcting that problem is with the lawyers themselves. If they file a frivolous lawsuit, then they pay the price too, financially and even with loss of license to practice.
Put caps on the maximum amount of interest that credit and lending institutions can charge, and change the way they amortize loans with front-end loading of interest into the first part of the loan. Let's get a grip on ourselves people, these bankers and lending institutions are using our own money to screw US over and charging US for the privilege of doing so.
The school systems, well -- they stink. Kids in the inner cities come out just as dumb as when they went in. Part of the education process should be to teach kids how to do something meaningful -- a trade -- even if a kid is fast-tracked to a business school, he should still know how to actually DO (produce) something. I don't care if it's milking cows or making cheese or welding metal, these kids need to come out of school educated.
And change the school system such that uniforms are the dress of the day. Eliminate the absurdities in dress at schools, reduce the violence and the gang symbolism associated with certain "colors" or sneakers or hats or whatever. You can't go to your office job when you're in your 20s dressed in gang colors or shorts and flip-flops (at least not any job over minimum wage, that is).
And pay our COPS, EMTs, Firemen (and women) HUGE sums of money, and I mean HUGE. If you expect a COP to come to your rescue in the middle of the night when some bruiser decides to kick in your door, rape and kill you, you damn well better be paying that guy (or gal) a bucket full of money to be willing to do so. If you expect a firefighter to rush into a building to save your child then you better be willing to cough up some serious money. And don't forget the teachers, pay them very well too.
And, as a word of warning, don't ever vote for a person like me, because I'm not a politician. I'm a statesman and I'd expose you politicians for the lying theiving cheats that you are without hesitation.
