Aug. 29, 2009 -- Love him or hate him, John Dvorak is a professional curmudgeon. While few sectors of our society escape his flinty gaze (usually accompanied by a sneer...), and the fact that he tends a bit too much towards the techno-glibertarian side of things towards my taste (you know...Read "The Fountainhead" in front of your computer and all of society's ills will be addressed... kind of like "TechCentralStation" without the need for atypical anti-psychotics...), Dvorak does do a fine job of goring sacred oxen. Especially in the computer/tech realm, where there seems to be no shortage of sacred oxen that desperately need goring. Or worse.
He's been at it since dirt was in beta testing. He's darned good at it. He knows where the bodies lie in the tech realm. He's often spot on, with the occasional "uh oh, John's been at the cooking sherry again" just to remind you he's not infallible. Which ain't a bad thing at all.
