1. PROBLEM:
When you have a low number of eligible educated black males to black females you will eventually lose the black middle class. Black females who are highly educated and well employed, have a lower probability of marrying and having children and is reflected in the current trend of negative population growth within the black community...
2. DISCUSSION:
What we currently see is a spike in the black middle class population of which the majority is black female. Women do not want to date or marry down. This means a good number won’t marry at all or bear children. Black females are entering what Charles Murray calls the Cognitive Elite, a new class of people who have moved up the socioeconomic ladder because of higher education and ability in professions that require high intellectual ability. Murray calls the division of the intellectually gift and well educated from the rest of society as cognitive stratification. The formation of this new class is not based on pedigrees or family ties, but on intellectual ability or IQ. Within the black community, a class division is forming between black males and black females and it is based on the education gap. As the education gap widens and more black females enter the cognitive elite while also unable to find potential mates, the black population or more specifically the black middle class will cease to exist. The problem within the black community is not of lower intellectual ability of black males compared to black females, but in the low value placed on being intelligent and educated by black males themselves.
3. RECOMMENDATIONS:
The black male identity must be reconstructed as soon as possible. The gangster/thug subculture has to be radically removed. This can only happen within a community that values education and intellectual curiosity over athletic ability. Until the black male identity encompasses intelligence and education, the gap between black males and females will continue to grow until the black middle class dies out which has already begun.
