America's Inability To Correct Wrongness And Un-empowering The Wrong By Omission (T.P. McWhorter)

  Feb. 6, 2009 -- First off, if anyone reading this is offended by a call-to-arms and correction of deadly crimes and financial destruction, please go to another story now -- I’d rather you turn away in your ignorance than to continue trying to change your warped way of thinking.

  Sitting here in Birkirkara, the capital of Malta, for those of you uninformed of the geography of the Maltese island, there is an overwhelming amount of news regarding the USA. There’s news of the former administration of supposed leaders, there’s news about the former vice presidential nominee, there’s news about the current economic climate and decline of America’s finances worldwide, and there’s news about the former vice president as he tries to continue his ravenous attack on cultures outside of America for his and his friend’s financial gain.

  Just so you know, none of the things mentioned above would go over here in Malta. As a matter of fact, the Maltese population would never stand for the outrageous perpetrations of lies, fear-based fantasies, outright sale of misguided principals, horrific crimes of finance that would radically destroy the economy, or the building up of those who desire to cause such ruin, either. When this many tales of lunacy from a country, on a continent an ocean away, is so prominent in the news, there has to be definite repercussions, especially when all of the stories are so detrimental to so many in the world.

  Now, let’s get back to the matters at hand.

  The guy who used to be President of the USA, who shall remain unnamed because anymore using his name keeps him “press worthy” and we all know the only press he should have from here on out is about the trial for war crimes he should be getting ready for.

  The same goes for the former vice president. These two are basically guilty of crimes against humanity, torture, and starting a warrantless war on two fronts that put American lives at jeopardy via lies to the American people and world. Oh yes, there’s also the well-known fact that they also destroyed two countries by militaristic abuse of power where millions of persons have been displaced, and thousands have been killed as well. Both the former president and his second in command have ruptured America's military budget and taxed the American people by allowing their friends to make billions of dollars while millions of people suffer economically. As I type this, there is a greater number of those being in and entering into poverty than ever before, all so the war machine that America has become spends $10 billion a day on a war that allows contractors like Haliburton to flourish so that profits can be beyond comprehension. And also, the amount of money going to oil companies that the former president has fervently supported for eight years was far more important than ever upholding the American constitution or backing the Americans he was supposed to defend as the leader of that nation.

  Next up we have a former republican vice presidential candidate who the media seems to love for no reason other than to sell headlines. Does anyone have any idea that to keep bringing up the name and showing the picture of the woman who ran for VP on the republican ticket only empowers her? The reason for me not naming this lame individual is that, as a responsible media correspondent, I can no longer give that person any more press than to ask all other media people, sources, websites and anyone else to do as I am, which is to try and ignore a person of low morals and hypocrisy so that when she tries to run for office in 2012, she might be remembered only for being an idiot.

  Everything and anything should be done to keep a cretin of such low character from garnering press and being in the public spotlight so her very presence only reminds us all that she was almost a heartbeat away from running one of the world’s most powerful nations.

  Now it is time to put two and two together. Maybe I am really an extremist, or not as liberal I claim to be, because right now all I can think about regarding two subjects is that both are deserving of a punishment that might be considered torture.

  The two crimes I am discussing here are the bailout and bonus fiasco being perpetrated on Wall Street, and the ponzi schemers that have shilled millions of people out of billions of dollars. My only thought about these financial destroyers is that they do not get more money for ruining the world’s finances by their unchecked greed (thank you both the SEC and the administration of the unnamed jerks prior to Obama) is that these guys should be led out in the street, naked, and ...

  (Editor's note: insert painful punishment here.)

  ... Anything less is a gift to them. How is it that B. Madoff gets to be in 2,800 square-foot apartment on Park Avenue instead of an eight by 10 cell like anyone who would steal and be caught doing so? How is it that those who worked as leaders of Wall Street firms that failed last year for corporate and financial indiscretions got paid millions for their crimes against so many?

  Has America become a place where it cannot even prosecute the worst of the worst? It seems like it because of the fact that the corporate raiders mentioned above are not being tried for being in charge of what could potentially ruin the entire global financial markets and they can’t even prosecute those they have in Guantanamo, whom they also call the worst of the worst. Instead of being the nation that can, the United States has become the nation of cannot, and that is a sad fact to ponder.

  “Madoff the Terrible” and those like him have evidently caused a rupture that has ruined and taken the savings of so many that the list is 163 pages long! And that 163 pages is only Madoff’s victims. The Wall Streeters who have allowed the lending, banking, and housing fiasco to fall apart as it has, only to collect balloon bonuses and pricey vacation junkets on the backs of American taxpayers and a world economy that is in a shambles, are of the highest order of criminality and anything less than ... (Editor's note: insert terrible punishment here) ... will only continue to give rise to those who think they can laugh at the system. Swift and vicious justice is the only answer to these kinds of criminals who negatively affect so many.

  It has been a case of where America has been unable to correct wrongness, and the American media, in general, keeps empowering those that should be forgotten by continuously reminding the public of horrible behavior by writing and discussing the perpetrators instead of calling for their heads on a platter. It is time for the world at large to un-empower those who would do wrong by not naming them and just prosecuting them as would be done to any criminal who does not deserve press coverage.

  For the good of the nations of the world it can only be determined to do what was suggested here because any other handling of what has been done will only give power to those that should have none at all.

  T.P. McWhorter was born Talbot Porter McWhorter in Jefferson City Missouri on July 23rd, 1941.  He was born the fourth of seven children including two brothers and four sisters.  McWhorter's father, Leopold, the first born son of Scottish immigrants, was a railroad man who travelled up and down Missouri train lines making repairs and handled upkeep for the lines throughout the state.

  Leopold fought in WWI as a foot soldier for the United States from the beginning of the war to sometime in 1917.  It was during that time he developed the skill of engineering to become a railroad technician.  By the time T.P. was born, Leopold was not home much and McWhorter's mother mostly raised T.P. and rest of the the family and took care of their small farm.  McWhorter's mother, Katerina, was born in the Ukraine and met Leopold after WWI in Philadelphia in 1925 when Leopold was working for the railroad there.  Besides running the small farm where they raised a couple of cattle, chickens and some sheep for family food, Katerina worked as a washer woman who was brought the clothes of the local upper class residents of Jefferson City.  She was well-loved around the town, and Leopold was the most respected train technician that ever worked on the line.  Both died tragically during a weekend vacation when their climbing harness rope snapped while the two were shackled together on the sheer face of a small mountain in Colorado.  They fell nearly a thousand feet before they hit the ground.

  It was T.P.'s oldest sister, Griselda, who became the head of the family after news of the parents' demise reached the farm by telegram.  T.P. was emotionally crushed at not being able to say goodbye to his mother whom he was always close to.  He developed obsessive compulsive behavior including repetitive handwashing remeniscent of Howard Hughes, and the paranoid agoraphobic behavior that confined Jim Backus to his home for years.  Writing became T.P.'s world where he lost himself in pages of unending fantasy.  T.P.'s stories of imaginary worlds, characters that were riddled with obsessions and addictions, dominated the boy's life for seven years before he was forced from his home when Griselda sold the family farm out of selfishness to spend money on fancy clothes and shoes.

  After the farm was sold, T.P. and his two brothers moved into a small house.  His brothers supported him as he still remained an agoraphobic obsessive hand-washer, and soon developed other paranoid delusional behaviors that included a great fear of transforming into anything other than who he was already, which is symptomatic of the hand-washing compulsion, and also a hatred for odd numbers.  It was only when his brother Utgrad came home drunk one night and fell asleep smoking and the house caught fire that snapped T.P. back to reality after he saved Utgrad and his other brother Remo from their imminent deaths.  Like being splashed with water while in a daze, the fire was a wake-up call to T.P. and he immediately lost all of his compulsions as he embraced life to the fullest and became an adventurer, traveller,  and writer.  For the last several years, T.P. has been living on the island of Malta writing short stories and doing archeological digs trying to uncover the link between the Maltese people and the mythical island of Atlantis.
