6 Scientific Reasons to Question the Use of Covid Masks — Mickey Z.

“Tear off the mask. Your face is glorious.” (Rumi)
What if I told you that there is no compelling “scientific” evidence that wearing a mask reduces your chances of being infected by a virus (like SARS-CoV-2)? Based on 18 months of targeted conditioning, you’d probably scoff at me and say something like: “When did you get your degree in epidemiology?” (insert sad trombone here)
Breaking news: You don’t need a degree in epidemiology — or a degree in anything, in my case — to think for yourself. All you need is skepticism, curiosity, and common sense. (Access to a search engine helps, too.) To follow is just a small sampling of what I’ve learned by relentlessly asking questions.
6 Reasons (of many) Why Masks Probably Won’t Protect You From Covid-19
1. There are no randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that prove the efficacy of mask-wearing
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) focuses strictly on inherently flawed observational studies. Click here for an excellent discussion of what this means. Reminder: If you don’t click on the links I provide and you don’t peruse the information therein, you forfeit any claim to being “informed.”
2. The RCT that found mask use to have no significant benefit was censored and delayed
To date, the only randomized controlled trial on face masks being used against SARS-CoV-2 infection in a community setting found no statistically significant benefit. It should come as no surprise that three major journals initially refused to publish this study. After a long delay, the study finally saw the light of day. By then, however, the media had already indoctrinated the masses about the alleged benefits of mask-wearing.
3. The World Health Organization admitted that its mask policy update was due to “political lobbying”
In June 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that its pro-mask policy was due to “political lobbying” instead of evidence. As Deborah Cohen, a BCC medical correspondent (see Twitter screenshot above) explained: “We had been told by various sources, WHO committee reviewing the evidence had not backed masks but they recommended them due to political lobbying. This point was put to WHO who did not deny.”

4. Masks do not offer self-protection or protection to others
Two professors in respiratory and infectious disease from the University of Illinois performed a review in spring 2020. Their conclusion: Face masks have no effect in everyday life as self-protection or protection to others.
5. Masks did not reduce influenza-like illness cases in the general population or in health care workers
Broadening the discussion from just Covid-19, a November 2020 review explored the impact of masks on reducing influenza-like illness cases. Their conclusion: Masks offered no reduction in the general population or in health care workers.
6. The “droplet model” of virus transmission is obsolete
Contrary to 18 months worth of talking heads and fake news reports, respiratory droplets play almost no role in virus transmission. If they were responsible for the spread of viruses, yes, masks could be helpful. The real culprits, however, are the far smaller “aerosols.” Face masks are unable to block such microscopic virus particles.
All of the above information (and so much more) was and still is readily available. For example, click here, here, and here. In other words, you could’ve looked it up before you congratulated yourself on saving lives by wearing a mask, condemned someone for opting to free their face, or shared articles from The Atlantic.
Just about every single person I know gets their opinions from TV, social media, algorithms, and fake news. Virtually no one I know takes any time to fact check what they see and hear — even when it’s directly related to their physical, mental, financial, or spiritual health. Most people make up their minds without exploring all the evidence and they call this “trusting the science.” You might even say “because science” is just another mask they wear.
The powers-that-be are very much relying on you not doing any work to protect your intellectual autonomy. They derive their power directly from your passive compliance. What if I told you that it’d be a damn good idea to take off all your masks and rediscover the subversive pleasure of thinking for yourself?
