Oct. 14, 2011 -- STOCKBRIDGE, Vt. (ShapeShiftas) -- ShapeShiftas is pleased to announce the availablility of a very special, limited-edition Eye of the Hurricane Irene pillow. This handcrafted piece is made by Vermont artisans in our Green Mountain swirl-print cotton, with a leather-buttoned, microfiber suede "eye". This accent pillow, shaped like the weather symbol for a hurricane, is remarkably comforting to hug, or to rest weary heads upon.
"We began offering the 'Eye of the Hurricane' pillow at our winter 2011 trade shows," says Deborah Goodwin, designer of ShapeShiftas' pillows and cushions. "This version was created after Irene slammed into Vermont."
Ms. Goodwin's studio and home are located in one of the hardest-hit parts of the state. "Unfortunately, flood damage from Irene has kept us from producing or shipping any of our wholesale orders. But, that's nothing compared to the friends and neighbors who lost everything. So, we are making this limited-edition pillow that we can ship to individuals, providing all the materials and shipping costs, and donating all net proceeds to flood victims and to help rebuild Stockbridge."
The huggable, handcrafted pillow is available now for $79.00, shipping included. Please visit www.ShapeShiftas.com to buy the Eye of the Hurricane / Irene.
